History: If these synopses don't work, let me know!

Appearance:
Sofia is a short, petite young girl--her skin is fair, and she has brown wavy hair with light blue eyes. She can most often be seen wearing varying shades of purple as a new royal. This is Sofia, on the left.

Personality:
Sofia is gifted with a very strong moral compass.

Above all, Sofia is good. She is kind and compassionate, always looking out for others and the people close to her. As a villager, she was friends with many, but most important were her two best friends, Ruby and Jade. Both girls stay friends with Sofia through her princesshood and Sofia is esctatic to see them and play with them. Their rift in social class is more often felt by others outside of their relationship; Sofia slips back into a commoner mindset when she plays with Ruby and Jade, much more comfortable in her heart and not submitting to peer pressure around her friends. They both ground her.

Sofia needs grounding. She wants to make everyone happy and make sure that everyone's having a good time--this makes her very suspectible to other people's wants and wishes, and she can be easily swayed away from her hearts' wants to other people's. Especially as a new princess, Sofia feels she has to show that she belongs, and very frequently messes up as a new addition. She's sensitive to it, and realizes that her wants and wishes are not always what's expected of her--but she's always brought back down from the clouds and told to listen to her heart, usually by someone else, but sometimes by her own doing. At the end of the day, she's still left confused--what is a real princess? Is it looks, or heart? When tested on this very subject, she takes an unlikely road that has her teachers claiming that she passed with flying colors, because a princess is what's inside--and despite this lesson, Sofia still struggles, as she doesn't know many manners or histories or what-have-yous her stepsister or the other children of Royal Prep know.

Despite her shortcomings, Sofia is a strong ally. She shows real leadership, frequently coming up with plans to circumvent whatever problem of the day has occured, and knows how to play to her strengths. She coaxes people out of their shell with her kindness, always resolved to find a way to make them feel better, more at home, or more themselves. She's determined, and rarely gives up through she may have a moment of weakness. Sofia believes that there is always a way to save the day. Although she is selfless, she is often too readily willing to give something away, as she was when her stepsister fell under a curse and she readied herself to give her Amulet away in return, when it was not her mistake to fix. She is earnest; she keeps her promises and holds true to them, reciting that "a broken promise is something that can never be glued back together".

One would think a seven-year-old didn't have the smarts to outwit much, but Sofia also shows a strange capacity for cunning. She modifies her plans when her pet rabbit is taken by a magician, thinking on her feet and successfully steering her plans to success. When a mermaid princess is held captive, she finds a way to free her by using her smarts, as she can't fight a seamonster on her own, and no one is willing to help. Despite this, she can be fooled, generally when trust is an issue; most obvious is her relationship with Cedric, the royal sorcerer. She has no clue that he's after her Amulet for his own gain; she trusts him implicitly and thinks his sorcery is amazing, unaware that Cedric has, multiple times, endangered her or her life for the Amulet's power.

Abilities:
After enrolling in Royal Prep, Sofia has learned various skills to help her on her path of princesshood. The school not only teaches dancing, but also fencing, which Sofia shows a natural proficiency at (even if she's only playing a game with her stepbrother). Magic is also taught, which comes with its own difficulties for Sofia; she's not very good at magic without some proper tutoring. She's cautious about using any magic spells she knows, given that she put everyone to sleep the first time she uttered an incantation she thought was supposed to make her dance well.

Sofia is physically fit and is quite the sportswoman; she's on the flying derby team at school (requiring her to ride a pegasus) and shown to be good at various sports, including archery, given the lessons she's given at school.

Having practiced sewing doll's dresses as a commoner, Sofia is remarkably good at sewing, and enjoys it very much. She makes her own costume for the Halloween ball Royal Prep has, and offers to help her stepsister with hers as well.

The ability that stands out the most, however, is the pendent around her neck. Named the 'Amulet of Avalor', it grants a blessing or a curse to the wearer. To this date, the necklace has blessed her with the ability to talk to animals and the ability to shapeshift into a mermaid; it has also cursed her (temporarily) by causing her to croak unintentionally. With the amulet gone, however, her powers evaporate. It's said to be a necklace to help new princesses and guard them; it's also necessary that the wearer be someone that has a pure heart and radiates kindness. It also summons a phantom of a previous princess to help the wearer.

First Person: Heeere's a dear_player post!

Third Person:
It was... strange, to put away her princess dress. Sofia ran her fingers across the pearls and gave a sigh, gripping her other hand against her heart. At least she could still wear her amulet. Having it made her feel much closer to the family she'd had to leave behind. "I guess, if the new school has a dance, I could wear it..." It wouldn't do to just put it up at the back of her closet, after all. She'd have to wear it once or twice a month, at the very least. With a deep breath, she steeled herself, taking up the hanger from her bed and putting it through the sleeves.

The room felt so small after her room at the castle, but she didn't really mind. If she were honest with herself, she always felt like she occupied far too little space for the big room she was given. She liked this. It was cozy, like slipping into mittens for the first day of winter. With a little smile, she hung up her dress and closed the closet doors. Lifting her hand, she patted the closed doors. "See you soon, I promise."

She'd make sure to.

Stepping in front of the mirror, she pulled on the cotton t-shirt she had on, shuffling in place. She usually wore dresses, but what her new parents had on hand was just simple hand-me-downs. Sofia was used to them, but she could always sew her own things if she had a sewing kit. Maybe that was the first thing she'd aim to get! Surely there was some way to help out around here, even if she was young. After all, she'd always accompanied her mother when she went out measuring for shoes... she could do something, couldn't she? It wouldn't do just to sit around.

After all, normal school was much different from Royal Prep. She'd always been so busy. She couldn't be so busy here, too... could she?

At hearing a knock at the door, she looked up from her shoes. "Who is it?"
